LOW/NO SEXUAL DESIRE OR SEXUAL FREQUENCY GROUP THERAPY
The number one sexual problem facing American couples is inhibited sexual desire (ISD). The second most common problem is discrepancies in sexual desire. Desire problems plague newly married couples as well as unmarried couples who have been together 2 years or longer. Desire problems occur among all types of couples but are most destructive in the early years of marriage.
An effective approach to helping couples not only restore their intimate life but make it amazing is an 8-week group therapy experience that Seattle-area sex therapists Mindy McGovern and Justin Pere are offering, based on the work of the Optimal Sexual Experiences Research Team of the University of Ottawa.
Here is a bit of information about the group and please feel free to call or email for more details...
WHY: Are you or your partner experiencing low or no sexual desire, or low/no sexual frequency, or a distressing discrepancy between your levels of sexual desire? Perhaps you already have a good sex life but want to make it great?
WHO: Couples with low or no sexual desire or frequency, and/or desire discrepancy (in which one partner is more interested in sex than the other) who are interested in enhancing their sexual relationship and are ready to embark on a journey to enhance their sexual experiences and relationships.
WHAT: Group couples therapy is an amazingly effective (and cost-effective) format for addressing issues of sexual desire or frequency. The groups run for 8 consecutive weeks (2 hours per night), using Zoom during the pandemic, on the Tuesdays of that 8 week period. We can accept up to 6 couples per group. The content of the group is based on the amazing work of the Optimal Sexual Experiences Research Team of the University of Ottawa, which has spent over a decade studying what make sexual experiences optimal and how we can help couples through group therapy to enhance their own sexual relationship.
WHEN: 8 consecutive Tuesdays from 7-9 pm, starting January 19th, 2021.
COST: The cost is $87 per hour per couple ($175 per 2-hour session). For comparison, this cost is about half of what couples typically pay for private practice sex therapy.
YOUR COMMITMENT: Attendance in this group requires a commitment to some time for "homeplay" with your partner.
