Dr. Mary Minten is a Marriage and Family Therapist in Nevada and Alabama and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Nevada. She is a national board certified sex therapist. She works as a researcher, clinician, educator, and supervisor. Her PhD is in Counseling from Oregon State University and her MA is from Naropa University in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology. Dr. Minten’s original research is on relationship wellness programs to support help healthy couples stay healthy. Her private practice clinical work is with emotional, mental, relational, and sexual health for individuals, couples, and families. She teaches sex therapy, diversity, motivational interviewing and a range of other courses for graduate students and for continuing education for licensed professionals. She is board certified with AASECT (American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists) as a sex therapist and ABS (American Board of Sexology) as a clinical sexologist and has worked with sexual health concerns since 2006. Dr. Minten’s approach to her work is existential and humanistic. She brings warmth along with extensive knowledge, including training in systemic, Gottman and Emotion-Focused therapy. She serves as a volunteer and advocate for TGNC, gay, lesbian, CNM, BDMS/Kink and other SGM minority groups and welcomes all relationships to her practice
